Welcome back to Symmetry!

The 2021/2022 back to school season is here, and so is the return of Symmetry – the Mount’s student-run public relations and communications publication. We’re super excited to be entering our 10th year with a team of talented editors, who you can learn more about here.

This year’s Symmetry editing team includes a diverse array of public relations and communications students whose passions vary from writing to podcasting (check out the Weekend Roundup with Co-Editor-in-Chief Madi Mills). With one decade of publishing behind us and a busy year ahead of us, we can’t wait to see what this year’s editorial team will write about.

The world looks a lot different in 2021 than it did in previous years. We are in the midst of a global pandemic, climate crisis, and are grappling with tough questions around diversity, equity, and racism. These are questions with no easy answers, but our responsibility as communicators is to talk about them openly and respectfully. We welcome your contributions on these, and any other subjects that you feel are important.

If you have an article you would like to write for Symmetry, please reach out to us! Symmetry is always looking for MSVU students, faculty, and professionals in the PR community to write articles, regardless of their degree or experience. Writing for Symmetry gives you the opportunity to showcase your writing abilities, build a professional portfolio, and publish your work on our public platform. Click to read our publishing schedule, guidelines, or to submit an article.

If you prefer to sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and read the contributions of your friends, professors, and classmates, that’s cool too! We hope you’ll follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and our new Instagram account to stay up to date on our latest publications (and don’t forget to share them with your networks!).

With all that said, we can’t wait to see what is in store for Symmetry’s 10th year. Here’s to a milestone year of creating, communicating, and collaborating!
